Before you watch Pedro Pascal suit up in 2025's Fantastic Four: First Steps, catch him in the '80s-set Freaky Tales, written and directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (Captain Marvel).

Freaky Tales transports viewers to 1987 Oakland, where a world-weary criminal (Pascal, Gladiator II) is taking on one last job. (Aren't they always?) But his story is just one of four interlocking narratives in this anthology film, which deals with everything from aspiring rappers to NBA players who also happen to be cult leaders.

The film's first trailer touches on all of these briefly, showcasing a gnarly sword fight and a beatdown between punks and neo-Nazis. Also showcased are Freaky Tales' jam-packed cast, which includes Pascal, Ben Mendelsohn (Secret Invasion), Jay Ellis (Insecure), pop star Normani, Dominique Thorne (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), Jack Champion (Scream VI), Ji-young Yoo (Expats), and the late Angus Cloud (Euphoria).

Freaky Tales hits theaters Apr. 4.
