Consider it a cute consolation. Among the plethora of Australian wildlife that desperately wants to kill you, the land Down Under offers some of the most adorable animals on the planet.

Meet George the wombat, who calls Sydney's Australian Reptile Park home.

Wild wombats are nocturnal and rather solitary, but this young fellow is all about lazily waddling, occasionally galloping and indulging in the odd tummy rub or three.

We'd argue there's nothing better to soothe the soul than watching this little bundle of baby wombat joy have a cheeky frolic with his human best friend.

We promise not everything in Australia will kill you with poison or sharp teeth. Some creatures, like little George, will smash your cynicism into a thousand tiny pieces.
