Wednesday's Google Doodle features a lot of firsts: The first Turkish woman to compete in the Olympics. The world's first computer programmer.

Those heroes would be Halet Çambel and Ada Lovelace, respectively. The illustration, marking International Women's Day 2017, also features the first woman in Argentina to receive a medical degree, Cecilia Grierson, and Korea's first female judge, Lee Tai-young.

According to Google, the search image depicts a girl whose grandmother is sharing the life stories of 13 exceptional women in history around the world. Also among the inspirational women featured are Ida Wells, the American journalist and civil rights activist, Lotfia El Nadi, Egypt's first female pilot, and Miriam Makeba, the South African singer and civil rights activist.

You can click the Google Doodle to learn more about the inspirational figures.
