The Monterey Bay Aquarium in California had an unexpected cuteness overload last week.
The aquarium is located right on the bay, and its Great Tide Pool opens directly into it. So, when this pregnant sea otter needed to give birth last week, she sought refuge in the aquarium's tide pool.
Since then, the pup and mom have been relaxing in the pool, much to the enjoyment of the aquarium's visitors, who can watch the two cuddling from the back deck on the aquarium.
This isn't the first sea otter to give birth in the tide pool, in December staff noticed that another otter used it to give birth, so the word is clearly getting around in the sea otter world.
