OK Go, the band known for creative, mind-boggling music videos, is back with an emotional new song and video that they recorded in quarantine.

After their 2006 treadmill video for "Here It Goes Again" went viral, OK Go went on to wow fans with other elaborate executions, including a zero-gravity stunt, some intense umbrella choreography, and more. But the latest video, for a new song called "All Together Now," is stripped down and carries a serious message.

Described by frontman Damian Kulash as the band's "somber prayer for hope," the song was inspired by the "nightly cheer for the frontline workers" in Los Angeles and Rebecca Solnit's piece in The Guardian, titled, "'The impossible has already happened': what coronavirus can teach us about hope."

In a letter that accompanies the video, Kulash shared that he and his wife struggled after contracting COVID-19. The singer and video director went on to discuss why he and his bandmates felt compelled to make this music.

"The idea that some good may come from this time of overwhelming tragedy is a light in the dark right now. We’re not delusional; we don’t think optimism or compassion alone will get us through this tragic pandemic, nor do we think the better angels of our nature are predestined to be victorious. But as we wrestle with anxiety, every drop of hope is precious. We want to nurture it and share it," Kulash wrote.

Profits from "All Together Now" downloads at OK Go's website will be donated to Partners in Health, a nonprofit organization that brings healthcare benefits to those in need. And fans who donate to the organization will also receive a link to download an "All Together Now" mp3, printable coloring pages of OK Go video scenes, and more.
