Filmmaker Werner Herzog has, as Stephen Colbert puts it in the Late Show clip above, something of an "iconic voice".

And it turns out that voice is even more iconic when Herzog is telling silly jokes.

In the video above Herzog and Colbert team up for a classic knock-knock gag before the host asks his guest to read a joke about two peanuts from the card in front of him.
