Hey ... seals like to sunbathe, too.

A 450-pound bearded seal was removed from a runway at Wiley Post-Will Rogers Memorial Airport in Utqiagvik, Alaska on Monday after it caught some rays for a little too long. By human standards, anyway -- not necessarily by seal standards.

The seal was found by airport foreman Scott Babcock, who was clearing snow after a storm at the time. He later posted a video of the loungin' dude to Facebook.

"It was very strange to see the seal. I’ve seen a lot of things on runways, but never a seal," Babcock told ABC News.

Local animal control officers hauled the seal away on a sled ... because of course they did.

The seal definitely wasn't the first animal to appear on airport grounds -- in Alaska, interruptions from wildlife are fairly common. But a 450-pound seal sighting right on a runway? That's always going to be special.
